Genome is a blueprint of life. We are interested how the genome changes during evolution.
To understand the principles and the molecular mechanisms governing the dynamics of genome evolution,
we are studying the phenomena related to the endosymbiosis, one of the most dynamic evolution processes,
and the organelle in photosynthetic organisms, with genome biological approach. For this purpose,
in our laboratory, a wide array of photosynthetic organisms (Plant, alga, photosynthetic amoeba,
cyanobacteria and photosynthetic sea slug) are used as experimental materials.
Furthermore, we are also aiming to apply the knowledges of the genome to agriculture.
