Research Themes
Functional Elucidation of the hMATE1 Transporter
We were the first in the world to discover "hMATE," the final transporter for drug excretion. This has helped establish international safety standards for new drug development.
The Science of Supplement-Drug Interactions
We research the combined use of supplements and drugs, and clarified the risk that chitosan can unintentionally increase the absorption of certain drugs.
The Mystery of YabG, a Bacterial Survival Switch
We have elucidated the mechanism by which the protein YabG matures by sequentially cleaving itself, like a domino effect, using molecular markers.
