Self-introduction

I lived in several countries in my life, and learned about how people live in different ways across several cultures. It is fascinating to see how people have different priorities with very good reasons. I grew up in Canada, lived in Hong Kong, studied and worked in Taiwan, and now teaching in Japan. I teach subjects related to sustainability, global citizenship, English and Chinese language. My seminar focuses on intercultural communication, where students get opportunities to be exposed to communicating with people from diverse backgrounds either in person or online.

My Mission

I hope to bridge students and the world by creating opportunities to do online exchange with people living overseas. I also create study abroad programs and host foreign visitors so that students have more chances to experience different cultures. In addition, I teach social and environmental issues, and often incorporate virtual exchange in my classes so that students can learn with and from individuals in other countries. By doing so, I believe that the world will become a better place with more understanding and less conflict.
